3. Government has evolved a national supercomputing mission to keep up with global trends and meet growing requirements in the country. According to Communications and IT Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad to initiate supercomputing activities, Rs 42.50 crore has been proposed for the mission during 2014-15.

The Union Cabinet, chaired by the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, approved the amendments in the Regional Rural Banks (RRBs) Act, 1976 to enhance authorized and issued capital to strengthen their capital base and to bring flexibility in the shareholding between Central Government, State Government and Sponsor Bank. The term of the non-official directors appointed by the Central Government will be fixed not exceeding three years.

The survey shows that India has the highest account dormancy rate of the seven countries – Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Nigeria, India, Pakistan and Bangladesh – assessed in its 2014 cross country survey on financial behaviour.
