• Australian cricketer Phillip Hughes died in hospital two days after the batsman was struck on the head by a bouncer during a domestic match. He was 25 years old.
  
  एक घरेलू मैच में बाउंसर लगने से घायल हुए ऑस्ट्रेलियाई बल्लेबाज फिलीप ह्यूज़ ने चोटों के कारण दम तोड़ दिया। वह 25 वर्ष के थे।
   
• "Catch It" will be the first India-made app to be marketed globally, its Gurgaon-based producer said. Catch It, which enables users to share images, videos, contacts other communications, was among the six finalist apps in the first SingTel Group-Samsung Regional Mobile App Challenge announced.
  
  'कैच इट' भारत में बना ऐसा पहला ऐप्लिकेशन होगा, जिसका विपणन वैश्विक स्तर पर किया जाएगा। यह बात इसे बनाने वाली गुड़गांव की कंपनी ने कही। सिंगटेल समूह-सैमसंग क्षेत्रीय मोबाइल ऐप प्रतियोगिता में इस ऐप्लिकेशन 'कैच इट' ने छह अंतिम प्रतियोगियों में जगह बनाई है। इस ऐप्लिकेशन के जरिए उपयोक्ता फोटो, वीडियो आदि साझा कर सकते हैं।
   
• Prime Minister Narendra Modi proposed a Saarc business traveller card for making it easier for traders and merchants in the region to travel and access one another’s markets. He said India will now give business visa for 3-5 years for Saarc.
  
  प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने कहा कि भारत, सार्क देशों को तीन से पांच साल का व्यावसायिक वीजा जारी करेगा। साथ ही उन्होंने प्रक्रियाओं को सरल तथा सुविधाओं को बेहतर बनाने का आह्वान किया।
   
• The country's largest state-owned bank will launch an Islamic equity fund next month aimed primarily at its 17 crore Muslims. In India it is the first bank to do so. According to Sharia Law it will help 17 crore Muslims of India.
  
  देश का सबसे बड़ा सरकारी बैंक स्टेट बैंक ऑफ इंडिया (एसबीआई) अगले महीने से मुसलमानों के लिए विशेष म्यूचुअल फंड जारी करेगा। ऎसा करने वाला वह देश का पहला बैंक होगा। शरीया कानून के तहत म्यूचुअल फंड के आने से देश के 17 करोड़ मुसलमानों के लिए फायदा होगा जो अबतक इससे दूरी बनाए हुए थे।
   
• Two Indian firms have won the Asia Corporate Excellence and Sustainability Awards (ACES) in Singapore for addressing issues impacting the environment. Mumbai-based banking company IndusInd Bank and India's foremost cement manufacturer ACC Limited won the award, which recognizes successful companies and individuals in Asia across two main domains: leadership and corporate social responsibility (CSR).
  
  भारत की दो कंपनियों इंडसइंड बैंक और सीमेंट विनिर्माता एसीसी लिमिटेउ को पर्यावरण पर असर से निपटने के अच्छे उपाय करने के लिए एशिया कापरेरेट एक्सिलेंस एंड सस्टेनेबिलिटी पुरस्कार दिया गया है। ये पुरस्कार नेतृत्व और सामाजिक दायित्व के क्षेत्र में अच्छे काम के लिए दिए जाते हैं और इनके लिए पूरे एशिया की कंपनियों पर ध्यान दिया जाता है।
   
• The Supreme Court observed Chennai Super Kings (CSK), an IPL team owned by suspended BCCI chief N. Srinivasan's company India Cements, should be suspended without "further inquiry".
  
  सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने आईपीएल में स्पॉट फिक्सिंग मामले की सुनवाई के दौरान बीसीसीआई को निर्देश दिया कि वह चेन्नई सुपर किंग्स टीम की मान्यता रद्द करे। सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने सुनवाई के दौरान कहा कि इस मामले में और जांच नहीं होगी।
   
• Singapore Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SICCI), one of the most respected commercial organisation in the country has said it will work with the Indian High Commission to facilitate local companies venturing into India.
  
  सिंगापुर के सबसे प्रतिष्ठित उद्योग मंडल सिंगापुर इंडियन चेंबर्स आफ कामर्स एंड इंडस्ट्री (सिक्की) ने कहा है कि वह भारत में निवेश करने वाली कंपनियों को मदद करने के लिए भारतीय उच्चायोग के साथ काम कर रहा है।
   
• Businessmen from India and China signed memorandum of understanding (MoUs) worth USD 2.4 billion (about Rs 14,800 crore), which includes projects like USD 1.5-billion India International Trade Centre in Gujarat.
  
  भारत व चीन के उद्योगपतियों ने करीब 2.4 अरब डॉलर (14,800 करोड़ रुपये) की परियोजनाओं के लिए सहमति के ज्ञापनों (एमओयू) पर हस्ताक्षर किए हैं। इसमें गुजरात में इंडिया इंटरनेशनल ट्रेड सेंटर की 1.5 अरब डॉलर की परियोजना का समझौता भी शामिल है।
   
• Having taken the legal route after being denied the honour initially, boxer Manoj Kumar finally received the prestigious Arjuna Award from Sports Minister Sarbananda Sonowal.
  
  बॉक्सर मनोज कुमार को आखिरकार उनका अर्जुन अवॉर्ड मिल गया। खेल मंत्री सर्वानंद सोनोवाल ने उन्हें यह सम्मान दिया। मनोज को इस पुरस्कार के लिए कानूनी लड़ाई लड़नी पड़ी थी।
   
• The Union Finance Minister Shri Arun Jaitley revises the target for opening of accounts under Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY) from 7.5 crore to10 crore by 26th January, 2015. This will amount to opening of one account for each household in the country.
  
  वित्तo मंत्री श्री अरुण जेटली ने 26 जनवरी, 2015 तक प्रधानमंत्री जन धन योजना के तहत खोले जाने वाले बैंक खातों की संख्याr को मौजूदा 7.5 करोड़ से संशोधित करके दस करोड़ के स्तेर पर पहुंचाने का लक्ष्यट रखा है। इसके बाद देश में प्रत्येूक परिवार के लिए इस तरह का एक खाता होगा।
